REALTORS are legally obligated to protect and promote the interest of their clients. All REALTORS must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and a High Standard of Business Practice.

      Five "Don't" Before Buying...

  1. Don't make any major purchases. Cars, furniture, electronics should all wait until you've moved into your new home. Anything going on credit can damage your ability to get financing.

  2. Don't move money around. One of the things that lenders worry about, is your ability to pay for the home down payment, deposit, and other closing costs. You don't want to show any recent m$oving around of large amounts.

  3. Don't make large investments. You don't want to decrease the liquidity of your assets before a home purchase, and don't want to dig around for info on recent big screen TV or stock purchases.

  4. Don't change your bank. You will have to provide info on accounts now closed, why accounts were closed, etc. Even if you're fed up because your bank teller insulted your hair style, wait to change until after you've moved.

  5. Don't change your job. This one is a mortgage-approval killer - your employment is a major factor in the approval process. If you can't show steady employment, or are unable to provide a job letter at the new place that says even though you're new, you can stay forever, you're in trouble!
